iPhone 15 PRO won't accept esim activation at all

is there an iPhone 15 pro version (anywhere) which does NOT support esim?

my boss owns 15 pro and I recommended https://www.airalo.com so that he can activate DATA when abroad (UK).

After buying and paying, the iPhone did not allow for this.

When checking online I found there should be a manual "add esim" option.

this option is nowhere to be found on his 15 Pro.

is it possible that he bought a version which does NOT support this feature?

Did he buy it from Apple or though a carrier? It possible the phone is carrier-locked in this case.

If the add eSIM option isn’t in the Cellular settings, maybe it’s carrier locked? Check Settings > General > About. Or there’s a corporate device management policy restricting that - if they check Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, any certificates should be listed with what’s restricted
