Building pc for first time wondering if my mobo is defective?

I have this amd asrock mobo but it doesnt have a metal thingy for the cpu to stay in place. It has the arm that moves it a little but am i just being dumb?

sorry i cant but i am soooooooooooo dumb im using am4 the how to on yt is using am5 so its different but tysm for responding so fast

Yeah, AM4 has the pins on the CPU so the socket cover isn't needed.

AM4 and most prior AMD sockets only have the sliding part to hold the CPU in place. LGA CPUs, including AM5, have the metal cover that applies mounting pressure to the heatspreader.
