What happens after it freezes? Restarts? BSOD? Gets unstuck?

Anything showing in event viewer?

Have you done a memtest?

After it freezes it just goes back to normal, plus I still hear whatever was playing when it started to freeze, like a youtube video playing or smth.
Im not an expert at event viewer but I did find this.image.png.778b5a1e14c92a738d82d2956358ae5e.png
how do i do a memtest 💀

I just signed to this forum to post something similar. It started 2 days ago. No BSOD, no reboots, no hard crash.

What i've tried?:

  • Clean OS install
  • RAM test (Memtest86, passed)
  • Check system files
  • Check event log (nothing that can be related to freezes)
  • Removed ram sticks (working with 1 stick improved but didn't solve)
  • NVMe check
  • BIOS update
  • BIOS hard reset
  • Unpluging unnecesary usb devices (But m&k)
  • Re installing GPU drivers
  • Check NVMe (Boot drive) is correctly inserted
  • Check SATA connectors
  • Praying
  • Crying

Did any of that worked?: No.

What can i do?:

  • If i am fast and close explorer.exe before it freezes after boot i can slightly use the PC but still some freezes here and there
  • Move the mouse cursor (And sometimes i can't)

What i can't do?:

  • Open task manager
  • Close task manager if was open before it freezes
  • Basicaly anything

Hardware:

  • Ryzen 5700x
  • Asus Prime B350 Plus
  • 32Gb DDR4 3000MT/s Corsair
  • RTX 3070.
  • PSU 650w gold
  • Corsair AIO
  • Hyperx NVMe 2Tb
  • 2 other SATA ssds

My last thought is that it could be a slowly dying MoBo (Purchased in late 2017). But if i waste money buying a new one and still does not fix it i'll be really pissed 😞

Halp please?

There is a non-zero chance that your GT 1030 is really struggling with hardware acceleration on, or with playback at whatever resolution and framerate you're running it at. The computer not crashing or anything makes me think it's just hitching as the GPU gets a little overloaded. I would try narrowing down what causes the freezing by toggling hardware acceleration on whatever web browser you use, and playing videos at higher and lower resolutions to see if there is an increase in occurrences of freezing.

Other than that, it could also be an issue with dust causing something to overheat, or some weird software/hardware issue I'm not familiar with. A RAM issue as Skippie suggested could be possible if it's causing the CPU to need to go back to the hard drive for whatever reason and pause system tasks while it waits on the hard drive to present data.
