HELP! my cpu overheating for random reason

I have a arctic liquid freezer ii 280, completely functional, pump working, everything, and a overclocked 4790k to 4.8ghz @1.325v.

2 days ago, the cpu maxed out at 90c (which is normal) in prime95 small ffts non avx, now, it thermal throttles at 100c to like 4.3ghz. In those 2 days, I have not turned off my pc, no setting changes, the pump is still fully functional.

 

My room ambient temp stayed the same

 

And it isnt just prime95, overall temps while using the system got much higher for some random reason.

 

any fix?

Its Prime95. Its an awful test and should never really be used by most people. Its  fairly pointless besides just doing a thermal limit test of your cooler. Most programs dont get anywhere close to that.

 

An easy fix, Dont run prime95. If your gaming thermals are fine and whatever other tasks are fine, there is not point in trying to fix thermals for a prime95 test to look good.

No, its not prime 95, opening fortnite while multitasking got my cpu up to 96c, before it never got above like 83 doing the same
