Vertical vs horizontal mounting

I have a RTX 2060 and I was wondering if mounting it vertically vs horizontal is better for performance. I know that the traditional way is horizontal but if vertical is better and gives better performance then that's an easy and cost effective fix

It really depends on the case.  Vertical mounting can cause some issues due to limited airflow if the GPU is very close to the sidepanel.

I see no benefits in vertical mounting an RTX 2060.

Vertical mounting is mainly for looks in most cases.

Thanks for the advice, I just heard about it and wanted to know if there was any benefit. Simple changes sometimes help with little to no cost.

No Worries 🙂  Sometimes simple changes help indeed, this is not one of them.

Do you know of any simple changes that do help?

Tweaking settings is your only real way.  Trying to OC or undervolt don't get you enough to make a difference.

It all depends on airflow If your case has good airflow go for it, if there isn't much air! As always your temps might be abit higher like 10% or less depending.

You can overclock the gpu for abit of more juice but it would increase yur temps so undervolt it to reduce most of it.

really depends on case, gpu height. how close the gpu is to the side depends on how much air it gets at full rpm. a case that has side mesh or intake it could be good. but its alot like the downflow cpu coolers good for mb vrm temps but bad for air flow as its all over the place. if you vertical mount it and case has say front intake, top back exhaust some hot air will go down and some up. the down air can be sucked back in. there are motherboards that had problems of gpu exhausting its heat at the southbridge and causing problems also m.2 temps should be better. so it really depends. in a case that has bottom fans you could vertical mount the gpu have top and bottom exhaust well side and back intake with and aio.

tower coolers also can get in the way of mounting it vertical.

a case like the fractal design north mesh i think would do good with a vertical gpu thow it also do goo with a horizontal as well...🤷‍♂️

but i mean how much of a difference are we talking 1-5c?🤷‍♂️

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx
