Help on deciding GPU

Is a rtx 3080 10gb good for ai ml and deep learning purpose or rtx 3060 12gb a better one

obviously the 3080 will be faster, however for the amount you will pay, you may find the 10gb of memory limiting (depending on your use case)

What models are you going to be using for? If they fit within 10gb or less, then the 3080 is much faster. Otherwise your best option is the 3060.

 

Why not go for a 3080ti or 3080 12gb? Best of both worlds. Or even an used 3090.

Some models won't run at all on a 3080 due to the lack of vram. Without knowing specifics it's hard to do a proper recommendation.

I just started learning and deciding to build the pc the new rtx 3060 12gb and used rtx 3080 10gb is available at same price so I'm confused

If you're just learning then you don't even need a GPU to begin with, Google colab should be more than enough. 

 

Are you also going to use this pc for games? If so, then grab the 3080, otherwise look for an used 3060.

Google colab is free, there's no subscription. 

You'll also need to learn to use cloud stuff sooner or later if you want to achieve anything in this area.

Isn't there any limit for t1 gpu because I tried running rvc and sdxl after and hour or so the gpu disconnected

It has a inactivity limit, if you leave it alone for a couple hours it'll disconnect.
