how is HDR possible with HDMI1.4?

Soroush72

this 32” ViewFinity S60A Samsung monitor supports HDR10 as listed in the specification but the specifications also list that it's HDMI version is 1.4 and the display port is 1.2 which doesn't make sense because as far as I know HDMI 1.4 and dp1.2 don't support HDR so can someone please explain this to me? here is the link to the product's page as well: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/uhd-and-wqhd/32-qhd-monitor-with-hdr-support-ls32a600nwnxgo/#specs

2560x1440 @ 75Hz 10-bit requires 8.86Gb/s

DP 1.2 is 17.28Gb/s

TBH when talking HDR the bigger issue is that's an inexpensive edge-lit display that isn't really going to be able to display HDR properly, regardless of it accepting an HDR signal.
