Hey yall my lil sisters computer is running fine before we updated windows and all of a sudden the Pc shut off and the error "reboot and select proper boot device error" We tried to go into bios and check the boot option and everything was the same as before and it still showed the same error. We replugged the m.2 and harddrive to clean off dust or anything and nothing pops up still besides that error. We didnt upgrade or change anything and all of the sudden it turned off. It was working normally yesterday til we did a windows update. Any thoughts?

Did the PC power off during the update process? It may be the OS was corrupted because of that, but honestly that shouldn't have affected the boot loader.

Assuming that everything looks okay in BIOS I would start by booting to Windows installation media and attempting a repair on the drive.

ask me about my homelab

I installed the media tool and went to repair the pc, I first chose startup repair and it gave an error saying it can't repair pc. Next option I chose was system restore but it also gave error saying how we didnt choose an operating system even though it didn't show us an option to choose windows 10. What else can I choose?
