Budget: $2000

Programs or workloads that it will be used for: an excess amount of internet browser tabs, beam.ng, GTA6, tarkov, 3dsmax, blender, CNC programs, mainly heavy gaming

looking to build my forever computer, $2000 budget, would be dope to keep it around $1500

I have no parts leftover from my last computer so I'm starting over.

I have a ton of free time with how the market is so I'll be using the computer alot for the next year or so, possibly daily.

also any monitor suggestions? was thinking maybe a regular monitor then a monitor that's tilted, whatever they're called.

also if you know anything about mouses, keyboards, headsets let me know lol, I don't have a setup at all currently, thanks

Hello... I have made you a Build List and I think you will be very happy with it. I put 64GB of RAM in it so that you can have an Ton of Browser Tabs open wile Gaming and or other things at the same time. I also added a Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, and Headset but these items are not included in the Budget.

I looked up the Requirements for GTA6 (as this is the most Demanding Game you listed) and you should be pretty good with this PC for at least 5 years or more.

my forever computer, $2000 budget,

Then best build a PC that's GTA 6 ready when GTA 6 comes around. Best we can hope now is to configure a PC that should at least stay relevant till 2028.

If I was to build a PC, it'd be something like this:

Screenshot 2024-03-19 163042.jpg

I know and understand this but... I think those estimates are a good starting point for the game given how PC Specs evolve every year with new CPUs and GPUs. A PC Game that is most likely 2 or 3 years away I would think that current Games of that time would have those requirements. Look at the problems we had with Hogwarts Legacy, Starfield, Star Wars, and CyberPunk 2077. Those games did not like to run on GPUs with less than 16GB of VRAM and even though the games can run with lower VRAM and Patches have come out for them since to make them run smoother it still doesn't change the fact that we need to move on from our current way of thinking that most newer Games will run on "Potato PCs". We should all start planning our PC Builds with CPUs like the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a GPU with 16GB of VRAM at the very least. Personally I would not Build a Gaming PC with a GPU that has less than 16GB of VRAM if I plan on playing any AAA Game now and into the future.

"My 2 Cents"

I don't like to hear that we should wait to see what the actual Specs for the Game will be when we can always plan ahead to a certain point. We as Techs, Planners, & PC Builders should know better by now. If someone needs a Gaming PC Built and has a Budget of $2,000 then $1,000 of that should go towards a GPU with the most amount of VRAM possible. Also people have to start coming out of their Shells about not getting AMD GPUs. If I had the choice of a Radeon RX 7900 XTX or a RTX 4080 then I would get the 7900 XTX any day of the week just because it has more VRAM. I would rather have more VRAM for my money than the Raw Power of an RTX "Overpriced GPU" that has less VRAM. This is only my "Opinion" but I wish more people would look at it that way I do or at least think about it first.

"My Background"

I am fortunate enough to get my hands on just about every PC Part there is within reason. I have my own Custom PC Build Shop and I have had it for over 25+ years. I do probably 3,000 Builds each year. I have a local College a block from the Shop and then I have the rest of the Community and Surrounding Areas. I use Intel Celeron's to Core i9's and AMD from old AM3 to AM5, for GPUs people are still requesting GT 710's through the RTX 4090 and AMD R9 Cards to the 7900 XTX. So I have a lot of experience. I am very happy and this allows me to not only get familiar with all different types of Parts but also different types of Customers who have different needs for different things. I was able to do my Dream Job and because of the location I don't think I will ever run out of Customers.

All I'm really trying to say is that we need to be changing our ways of thinking. I know "Future Proofing" is not a real thing but it should be if we don't plan on changing the Motherboard. If we don't change that and they get a cheap CPU then they can always Upgrade to a better CPU and GPU later on if they want to.
