Help me with my first build

Budget (including currency): <Rp.15.000.000 (below $1000)

Country: Indonesia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA games, some light work

Other details : i already have some parts which is:

PSU : EVGA Supernova 650Gm

RAM : 2x8Gb Kingston HyperX Predator 3200mhz

Motherboard : Asrock B550 Steel Legend
Case : Corsair Carbide Spec-02

(also i have Koorui 24e3 1080P 165hz monitor)

Now my question is which CPU+GPU combo that i should go for? there are some plans in my head but i don't know much about the pros and cons

  1. Ryzen 7 5700x + Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 + XFX RX 7800Xt Core Speedster Qick
  2. Ryzen 5 5600 (with stock cooler) + XFX Radeon RX 6900 XT Limited BLACK Speedster Merc
  3. Ryzen 5 5600 (with stock cooler) + XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc + Additional monitor Gigabyte M27Q 1440P 170Hz

I just want a recommendation of which setup should i go for? i really wanna go for the best bang for the buck setup here, i admit i am pretty inexperienced here so any recommendation would be very much appreciated here, thank you!

What do you plan to play with and how good is your motherboard. I personally like option 3 only if base motherboard is good so that down the line you can upgrade to 5800X3D. B550 Steel legend is good, clear upgrade path for the future. Monitor can make a big impact on how much you can enjoy a game, especially single player games.

Desktop: Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Kraken X62 Rev 2 - STRIX X470-I - 3600MHz 32GB Kingston Fury - 250GB 970 Evo boot - 2x 500GB 860 Evo - 1TB P3 - 4TB HDD - RX6800 - RMx 750 W 80+ Gold - Manta - Silent Wings Pro 4's enjoyer

SetupZowie XL2740 27.0" 240hz - Roccat Burt Pro Corsair K70 LUX browns - PC38X - Mackie CR5X's

As mentioned above as well. It would really depend on the games and resolution you would be playing at. So the fastest GPU in the option is the 7800xt. So prioritized getting this GPU to fit your budget. As for the CPU, upgrading from 5600 to 5700x would actually get you around 5-15% average increase, depending on the game. If you play FPS or MOBA games primarily, prioritize getting the better CPU.  But that's on 1080p scenario. If you're planning to play at 1440p, you can get the 5600, so that you can get a better GPU.

If it where me, I would probably get the 5700x + XFX RX 7800Xt Core Speedster Qick. Then, get the cheapest dual tower CPU cooler like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin. Which should be on par with dark rock pro, but only cost less than half the price. With the price difference could actually be added to the CPU so that you can get a 5700x or even 5700x3d. But sometime later, you really do need a higher resolution monitor. As 7800xt and even the other GPU options are overkill for 1080p. The same way as the old GTX 10 series and RX 400/500 series were made for 1080p and overkill for 720p. Even if not immediately, 1440p would be the best pair for those GPU vs 1080p or 4k.

how much budget is left?

cpu wise 5700x3d, shame that theres no tray versions since the tray 5700x is like 2jt cheaper

3090 still fits in the budget if you go for a 5700x though i think a 6900xt for 3.5jt less is abit more reasonable

cooler wise ag620 cause its cheaper than both the peerless assassin and frozn a620, its basically the same price as the peerless assassin se but im pretty sure they perform the same anyways

and if you can return parts id ditch that 650gm for an andyson 1200w px

do you think i should start saving for 5800x3D after i got my 5600? or should i get a cooler first? and which cooler would you recommend for the best bang for the buck?

Thus why on the third option i would opt out to get cheaper cpu, get 6800xt, and spend the rest on a 1440p monitor.

Getting the 7800xt would mean i have to ditch the monitor even with 5600 and stock cooler and then i would be stuck on my koorui 24e3 which is only a 1080p monitor, the best that i can do for RDNA 3 and get a 1440p monitor is to get 7600xt

i am sorry i forgot to mention that 15jt is for the CPU/cooler, GPU, and the asrock b550 steel legend, asrock b550 steel legend cost around 2.6jt, getting the 5700x paired with deepcool ag620, and 6900xt kinda a lil bit over my budget even though it is still managable, only i have to ditch the 1440p monitor and be stuck with my 1080p monitor, and i know damn well 6900xt would be overkill for my 1080p

5800X3D is the top tier CPU for last generation AM4 sockets, and gap between it and newer 5700X3D is bigger (10%~) than the previous time round for the 5700X vs 5800X (1-2%~). Lots of competitors these days but a cooler similar to something like a Deepcool AK620 will be good enough for a 5800X3D.

asrock b550 steel legend cost around 2.6jt

you got ripped off cause holy shit thats expensive for a last gen board

could have easily gotten a b650m hdv instead and built an am5 system based around a 7500f which is at 2.8jt, the cost will equalize even if you consider ddr5 since the 5700x3d is 1.4jt more, not to mention am5 will have an upgrade path unlike am4

return that thing if possible and go for am5

the one i linked is 7jt so its half the budget and alot cheaper than a new 7800xt which are 9jt and closing in on that used 3090

you can buy a better monitor later on and when you do you can actually use said monitor since you have a good gpu

dude...just the 6900xt and the cpu alone already cost 11jt which is yes still within my budget but my point is i would have to sacrifice the monitor and be stuck with my 1080p monitor, i don't know if this is my country shenanigans but yes 2.6jt is a normal price here for b550 steel legend, and 2.1jt is the price for the b550m steel legend, and i still don't know if i should choose the b550m steel legend one or the normal b550 steel legend

also asrock b650 pro rs is cheaper for 2.4jt, and the 7500f cost around 2.8jt, if i were to pair it with the ag620 and i were to pick up gigabyte m27q which cost around 3.9jt, that already puts me at around 9.9jt which puts me to basically have a 5jt budget for a gpu, and that's only enough for like 7600xt, if i were to sacrifice the monitor then i can afford to get 7800xt, but again i would be stuck with my 1080p monitor

7600xt is trash

5jt is enough for a 6800xt which will obliterate the 7600xt

do not buy am4 unless you are buying used cause you can still get good boards like the b450 tomahawk for ~1jt and there are also cheaper boards than that, but given the budget go am5 anyways due to upgrade path and cheaper cpu

mobo wise b650m hdv at 2.16jt so cheaper than the b650m pro rs

rams wise klevv 6000c30 at 1.75jt, you wont ever have to replace these unless 32gb is no longer enough, should be hynix a die based so capable of 10000+ if a future cpu needs it, and yes the b650m hdv will handle 10000+ considering its the board that holds am5 ddr5 frequency record at 10800 with an 8500g

yes i am aware that our countries new pricing is abysmal hence the used gpu and buying used am4 mobos, tokped has good buyer protection so dont worry about getting scammed, just have to make sure you do an unboxing video and you are good

Update, so I decided to go with your advice and build myself an AM5 system, planning to get 7500f and the rx 6800

I've narrow down the motherboard I want both are from asrock, but should I get the PG Riptide? Or the Pro RS?
