Ryzen 5 5500
RX 6600

16GB DDR4 RAM

550W PSU

Hey, just need a recommendation about the new build that I'm planning to build. With the CPU and GPU will it run smoothly for about 3-4 years. I probably not upgrading my PC for 3-4 years. For the motherboard, I was thinking about asrock B550M Pro SE

The Ryzen 5 5600 has a decent performance increase over the 5500 so I recommend it if you can afford the upgrade

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

What games? What resolution? What detail settings? And most important, budget and location?

The configuration you posted won't hold up to 1080p high gaming for 3-4 years. 1080p low to medium, probably. The R5 5500 is weak, and if you're se ton AM4, I'd shoot higher if budget allows.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Already low tier now, won't last that long, try to get a 5600 or even better a 5700X3D, and at least a 6600XT, this would make a nice 1080p build

AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB cooler/  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU/ Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / ASUS ROG AZOTH keyboard/ Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

Targeting at 1080 mostly at High setting, but mostly at casual games like Dota and Genshin. Not a lot of AAA games, most likely a games that come after 2019 to 2023 like AC games and other single player games. Saddly my budget doesn't really allow it for the moment but thanks for the info

Might thinking about the 5600, but is it a big gap for the 5700X3D? And for the GPU, I do think the XT version is better but its little over my budget. Thanks for the info

Yes there's quite a gap, non only 5700x3D has 8 cores to 6 on the 5600, but the cache thing really helps in game and it gets performance similar to way faster chips like a 14600K
