Using a capture card for a webcam?

I've been trying to find a way to use my camera (LUMIX DC VARIO) as a webcam and i was thinking of using a capture card to pass the output of my camera to my pc with OBS, but i don't want to buy a capture card without knowing if the "solution" i thought about works or not. ive heard that this camer does have over heating problems if used as a webcam too? i'm not sure but let me know if that could work of not. thanks!

Also consider if the camera has a clean output. One without other info overlays.

Still, if you can afford a capture device, you can afford a webcam. Unless you're after a specific type of shot to be captured?
