As far as I can see, this CPU has a plenty of power in it's hands - it is better than the E8400 and it is neck to neck with the E8500... my question is... can I expect nice FPS in some newer and older titles - Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, Battlefield 3 and 4 hopefully, older ones like Call of Duty 4 and MW2, coupled with GTX 550 Ti and 4-8 GBs of DDR3 RAM? I am going to play these games at resoultion of 1440x900, and I am not aiming for ultra settings (of course), except in the older ones and Battlefield 3 SP. Thanks in advance.

Jesus a Celeron, well you may be able to but if you are on a very small budget then I'd at least look at a Pentium.

But I've not hooked an Ivy Bridge Celeron to a GTX 550 Ti so I don't really know how it's going to perform, but I would at least have a look at the Pentium which has a little extra grunt for not much more money.

You don't know in what situation I am right now, so even a 5$ price difference, it is a big difference for me... and hopefully, I will try to buy better CPU like i5 when I am going to get out of this situation... btw, thanks for the reply...

You are pretty much in the same position as me, it took me 3 months just to save up for my Core i3-2120 which I really like so I can certainly relate.

If that is the case then go for it, it may work out cheaper to get a good CPU now instead of a crap one just to replace it in the near future anyway but if money is so tight then go for it.

What is your budget if you don't mind me asking, for CPU's with a low budget an AMD might be better than a Celeron.

EDIT: Not sure on the other games but I play Modern Warfare on my i3 using the HD 2000 i-GPU, everything is at the lowest setting and the resolution at 1,024 x 768 I think and I can manage around 20-30 fps, doesn't look amazing but at least it runs it.

About 60$ only for the CPU, and keep in mind, in my country the prices are a little bit higher than those in the USA, Canada, UK etc...

ohh then I'm not really sure but before you go for a Celeron I'd recommend that you have a look at some of AMD's linup

I think that's all I can help you on, I can't think of anything else but if you have any more questions then please message me and I'll try my best.
