I am thinking of liquid cooling my PC. But I am unsure of how to do maintenance on a custom loop? Should I just replace the liquid every 6-12 months (just drain the system and refill) or is there more to it.

To add, the loop I am considering would have a 360 rad and a 240 cooling a graphics card and CPU.

I'm curious, does the amount of rads and blocks in the loop affect the amount of maintenance?

Im not an expert, but I would refill every 12 months for a light user, and probably 4-6months if you leave your PC running all the time. I would also probably detach the tubing and clean that with some water if its really gunky. But id say its okay just for light maintainance

Yo whats up.

If you use a good coolant ~ you don't need replace it for 12-18 months.

Do ensure that there is no gunk buildup in your tubing on a regular basis, check for leaks and tighten the couplings/ connectors and compression fittings when they get loose.

And don't forget to check your pump if your machine is always on 24/7

Maintaining a custom loop is very easy ~ regular checkups will keep it running for years.
