People say that Malay Intel chips are better at overclocking and can get better clock speeds. Is that really true or is that just because every one that got one is lucky?

Look at the overclocking database on OC.net.  It is completely random.  I have a Costa Rica chip that is in the top 10-20%.  Its pure luck.

On top of the IHS it has model and where it's manufactured, my 3570K is from Costa Rica and does 4.9GHz @ 1.38V, it's a champ. Perfect for FSX

I dont know how to overclock so i have no idea if mines good or not lol but i guess the myth of malaysian chips being good is busted since theres 2 people in here that have costa rican chips and they oc well.

It does not matter if your intel chip was manufactured in Malaysia or Costa Rica.

The best binned chips are the ones located closest to the center of the wafer :)
