Exhaust at the back of case

Logan Payne

Looking at building in the Corsair 4000D RGB. It comes with 3 front case fans and no rear fan. However, I am installing a h115i for cooling the cpu oriented as exhaust, Is it necessary to put a rear exhaust in this case

It comes down to your cooling requirements. I've running my build for a while without a dedicated exhaust fan with no thermal issues. But as I said, it depends on the cooling requirements...So what are the rest of your specs?

You'll get somewhat better temps mounting an AIO on intake in the front/side, especially if the tubes go to the bottom. Put the crappy stock fans on exhaust,  one in the rear, 1-2 rear top.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.
