@Vicente Gomez The 4770K should be slightly better in this scenario. Handles more multi-threaded application better. Either 4770K or wait for the refreshed haswell cpu but they're probably going to be 5-10 percent better.

Be more specific. What kind of projects are you going to be working on at school? What are you studying?

@WoodenMarker

Floor plans, building, bridges, etc.

I am getting certified in Auto CAD so I will need to have this on my computer when I build it.

Unless you're doing heavy final renders very frequently, the 4670k will be fine.

i work on autocad all day long and it does use multiple core but it has no impact on performance, a good quad core like the core i5 gaming cpu is plenty for autocad, even if you use autocad 3d.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |

With ACAD (not necessarily other CAD software) the general consensus is to disable HT for best performance... however newer versions may change this.

Luckily ACAD is DirectX based, so your gamer cards with work well with it... but for other CAD software this usually isn't the case.

Bear in mind If your going to run simulations or do 3D rendering, the i7 may be noticably worthwhile for the small extra $ layout.
