Which laptop to choose from the two?

Hello guys,

 

I'm having trouble deciding which laptop out of the two listed to choose from, the major difference is the GPU technology, one is IrisXe and the other is UHD, but one has I5-U and the other has I5-H, and also DDR4 and DDR5 memory differences.

The purpose of the laptop is work purposes for my dad, I want him to get something that will hold for many years, and be future-proof.

I get this when I go to either hyperlink:

you will want to make sure either one has 16gb of ram at least. the lenowo is all soldered but the asus has one unsoldered ram slot (it specifies only 8gb dimms can be used but lol?? 32gb prob work fine)
the lenovo has a way better cpu and tbh the same gpu, but 16gb ram is cringe.
 

I wouldnt get either. if its gonna be used for over 3 years, then 16gb isnt enough i think

I agree regarding 16gb of ram, they both have it

But the only purpose of the laptop is work office with mostly emails and browsing.

 

So sounds like the Lenovo took first place for now.

I have a vivobook 15 oled. cost 650 cad. Its good a great keyboard/display/battery life. I love it, its great no drawbacks. I have the one with 8gb of ram and havent needed to upgrade ram for my uses I have atlas os installed so I should be good, but if you are looking at a vivobook I recommend the oled ones as they can be found for cheap and are superior. the display is just 1080p but gets bright 600nits and has great colors and perfect contrast. highly recommend and say go for the vivobook.
