Is possible to clone old Wi-Fi network on new Router ?

Tyraenel

Hello guys.

I have an question. I want to upgrade my current router ( old D-link), with something with at least 2.5 GB LAN ports.

My problem is that currently all of my smart switches, IoT and some of network infrastructure is connected to the current Wi-fi.

Is there a way how to clone the wi-fi network ( SSID, MAC address, obviosly name and PW ) on new router ?

I don't really want to open walls to reset and reconnect some of the switches 😄

Thank you all.

Se the SSID and password on the new router exactly the same as the old router, then swap them out. Once the new router finishes booting and broadcasts its network, everything should reconnect.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Thank you all ,

and if there is a need to clone a MAC address, is that also possible ?

Some of the switches ( like manual light switch) are veryfing the wifi with the MAC of the router.

Still if not, it shouldn't be a problem, 90% of devices will switch automatically.

Thanks again.
