Sacre Bleu!! Bloody French in Chrome

This is the most bizarre issue I think I have ever had. I have Windows 11 UK, no language packs installed, translate disabled etc. Not running a French VPN either!

 

I go onto pages and some come up partly french, some fully french and some English. Sometimes the translator pops up anyway and I really don't know whats happening! I have removed every trace of any language packs  bar English yet its still happening!

 

Virus scan and malware scan run and clean.

 

Any ideas other than learning French? That was bad enough in school!

The problem doesn't seem to exist in Edge although I don't really use it

In Chrome settings what is you preferred languages set to?

UK English. I even done a windows reinstall the other day as the laptop was cluttered. Don't think the problem existed before that. FFS!
