Could Ryobi's new 220CFM Cordless Blower compete with Electronic Dusters (Datavac, etc) or no?

WarmEngine

I saw a YouTube video last night for this Ryobi Cordless Blower by an auto-detail channel and I was actually pretty impressed.  It got me thinking could this be a good replacement to a Datavac or other similar Electronic Duster that many use to clean out their PC's with instead of compressed air?  This is rated at 220 CFM/140mph which I'm guessing is with the trigger fully pressed.  A Datavac is 70 CFM in comparison though so would these be overkill for PC cleaning?

No, not overkill.  Should blow a lot of air, and since nothing in the PC is loose.... won't be any issues.

With specs like that it won't be a very powerful leaf blower, but it's plenty for dusting stuff off.

I'm not sure I'd pay $100 for it; I paid about that much for my corded Toro F700 and that thing can keep up with backpack blowers. Check eBay and Marketplace for a used example of an older model. If all you're looking for is a duster and you're not already bought into the Ryobi One+ ecosystem (they're great happy homeowner tools), check out the 20v Bauer blower from Harbor Freight. It's half the price and has similar specs.

If you already have a canister vacuum ("shop vac"), putting the hose on the "blowy" side of the motor would also make a serviceable blower for dusting PCs. Actually, if you have a place to put it, I think a shop vac would be a more useful tool overall.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Looks good to blow water out of places when drying a car.

Could also be used to dry spots in the interior whenever you have an "Oopsie" and need to clean it up, then get the spot dried quickly.
