Totally agree, always takes time to get used to someone's new look. I think the big difference is that his jaw seems quite pronounced compared to pre-beard vids.

I think it’s the hair not being gelled up that makes him look a little older.

To me it's like this.   FIRST.  In motion live and talking and smiling he looks great.  There's something in the eyes.  This may be true of all of us given we are all survivors of a minor apocalypse now. .... but 

 

I get it.. These have been some tough years.  For me it shows in that I just can't get quite as fit.   So I see just what OP means.  None of us are who we were before. The world is not what it was before.
