M.2 SSD Randomly died

Huzaifa17681

I had a budget computer build with two storage devices installed:

- 500GB HDD, which I use for personal heavy data and stuff.

- 256GB TwinMOS NVME drive, which has Windows installed on it.

I left my computer turned on while I went to do other work. When I returned, it had a blue screen error (Unexpected Store Exception). Upon restarting, the white LED on the motherboard's EZ Debug indicated an error while booting. Now, when I turn on my computer, it either shows no display or takes me to the BIOS when the NVME is not detected.

I tried installing the drive on my laptop and encountered the same error, confirming that the NVME drive is dead.

What could possibly cause this, How can I avoid this in futures also if somebody could suggest me a budget replacement NVME

Besides all the clearly paid for advertising online by TwinMOS and their website itself, most people have generally bad reviews for their products. Very cheaply made, and are prone to failure according to forum posts. If you're looking for a budget Nvme go for Teamgroup or Kingston if available. I'd double check on here if you find something that fits your budget. We can let you know if it will be worth buying or not. In most cases saving even just a dollar or two or even ten bucks going for the no-name brand drive isn't worth it.

I would not try to RMA that TwinMos nor would I try to purchase another.
