Best Alternative for i5-13500

I want a CPU for productivity purpose, that performs just like i5-13500, The reason I don't  want to go with i5-13500 is it requires a additional cooler ? .What are the key metrics that one should consider while buying CPU for only productivity. iGPU must be included. Suggest best affordable Mobo for the CPU.

You need to tell us what "productivity" means to you.  What exactly are you doing?

The 13500 is an ok CPU,  so basically any AM5 or any  better Intel  is fine.  Very broad question.

Not a bad choice for productivity, AMD chips in that range are less performing due to not having ecores

But why is the cooler an issue ? A decent $30ish cooler will do the job perfectly (TR PS120 or PA120)

And you'll also need an aftermarket cooler with anything above a 13400 or AMD 7600 anyway

System : AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 cooler (with 2xArctic P12 Max fans) /  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU

Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / Logitech G915TKL keyboard (wireless) / Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

doesnt the 13500 come with a cooler already?

That's not enough, I am from India. Temperature can reach 40-45 °C. Stock cooler is not enough

40 to 45c isn't bad though? That's well within normal operating temperatures of the CPU, that's actually fairly good if that's under your normal productivity load as well.

Main Desktop: CPU - i9-14900k | Mobo - Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 | GPU - ASUS TUF Gaming OC RTX 4090 RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 64GB 3600mhz | AIO - H150i Pro XT | PSU - Corsair RM1000X | Case - Phanteks P500A Digital - White | Storage - Samsung 970 Pro M.2 NVME SSD 512GB / Sabrent Rocket 1TB Nvme / Samsung 860 Evo Pro 500GB / Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2tb Nvme / Samsung 870 QVO 4TB  |

TV Streaming PC: Intel Nuc CPU - i7 8th Gen | RAM - 16GB DDR4 2666mhz | Storage - 256GB WD Black M.2 NVME SSD |

OP was talking about *ambient* temperature 😮

Sure it could be a problem for cooling the CPU, maybe some power limit should be set around 120W

Gotcha, unfortunately its hard to beat the price of lga 1700 (intel 12th, 13th, 14th gen) motherboards right now but if you dont mind spending a little bit more, am5 is a great option because it is more power efficient. (therefore easier to cool). I'd recommend the amd 7600 cpu, it will have a little bit less performance in productivity due to the lower amount of cores than the 13500 but it is still a very solid cpu and has a great stock cooler.

For a motherboard the cheapest right now seems to be this gigabyte b650 board https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0BZ17BQ4Z/ which is on sale for ₹11,989 (about 150 usd). not an amazing price but its a decent enough board.

These are just recommendations btw, take online advice with a grain of salt, its always best to do some research and make sure there wont be issues with the software you want to run and there are likely better deals if you do a bit more hunting.
