Random searches showing up in my windows search menu?

Britishblue

Hi I was just using windows 11 as usual and noticed in my search bar there are a bunch of odd random searches that I never searched showing up in the menu that shows recently opened apps. Right now theres 2. "You are an idiot" and "maelstrom". Its kind of creepy because it just showed up for no reason. I witnessed one of them show up after doing absolutely nothing. Does anyone else have this? Thanks

Could be a trojan virus.  I found this when doing a search.  Check your system to be sure.

The official HTML5 port of the legendary infamous YouAreAnIdiot JS Trojan. ☺ ☺ ☺ Once found on www.youdontknowwhoiam.org

Take care and good luck.

I remember that virus from years ago. It was a harmless virus that just broke peoples systems until they restarted it. I just did a scan of my PC and there are no detections. I just reset my pc a month ago and Ive installed barely anything onto it so I dont think it is a virus. Maybe Ill just reset it again to be safe. Thanks.

I just did a scan and there dont seem to be any detections. I saw this post on microsofts forums - "https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/random-searches-showing-up-in-recent-history-in/cf6a9ab5-e751-46eb-9ee9-6772f33f65f6". It seems to be the same issue and someone had it in the last 20 days. I havent had any more searches show up since but Its definitely worrying. Thanks
