Do mirrors block Wi-Fi?

concrete, or brick, i can't tell, either way, i already have a 4th ap on order and some ethernet cables running into the room.

depends on how thick.. but those are usually signal killers...  and adding the glass mirrors, will reduce the signal to unusable.

Do mirrors block Wi-Fi? As in if you have an AP, a non drywall wall with mirrors ( and a 55 inch tv) on the side of the AP,

will the Wi-Fi in the room on the other side of the wall be bad?

Imagine everything i have written in a Linus Voice/ linus tone (Spock live long and prosper gif here ,idk why tho, i guess i just want to say that i like star trek and am waiting for new seasons of the ongoing shows), But seriously, a lot of what i type only makes sense when said in a Linus tone from an older ltt video (circa 2017-2019 & now 2024-onwards) basically before he got a beard and a lot of it should make sense even in a Linus with a beard face.

also note as per the latest typing test on my laptop, my accuracy is 69%

Anything metallic in the way of the signal is going to negatively affect signal strenght, so yes, the mirrors could be blocking signals.

English is not my first language, so please excuse any confusion or misunderstandings on my end, also I like to edit my posts a lot.

Metal, glass, or exceptionally dense walls will interfere with the signal but you shouldnt have any major issues. Should note that higher frequencies like 5Ghz and 6Ghz will have a harder time punching through. Devices might switch to the 2.4Ghz band.

Mirrors don't block they reflect 🫠

they reflect light.... but it's glass usually and the density can make issues for radio signals. ... but the worst there is the tv.. older tube tv's was worse, but LCD's plasma's etc. will still send out interference for the wifi radio signal. 😄

samsung 4k lcd? from 2018, shouldnt be much of an issue, being a smart tv itself right?

if your question is " do they deflect radio signals the same way they deflect light?" the answer is no

but do they make the 5ghz signal on the other side worse?

yes, as does everything you put between the access point and the device

would it make a noticeable difference or is is probably the 10 meters of distance between the wall and the access point?

any wall or material will reduce the distance the radio signal from your access point can travel, 5Ghz signal more than 2.4Ghz,  and having a wall of mirrors/glass pretty much kills anything beyond that wall.. was it just 1 mirror, or 1 tv, it wouldn't be that much issue as radio signals can bounce too... if you understand what i mean..

so for your setup, 10 meters .. well i would set up a second AP on the other side of that glass/mirror wall to get a good signal on both sides.

you say it's a non drywall... do you mean concrete or stone wall?. that would basically kill the signal totally, and with the second blocking surface as the glass, even less will get through.

concrete, or brick, i can't tell

got it so new ap then, ill stick it in the outlet right by my door so the 5ghz can go through 3 inches of wood instead of 10 meters and a foot of brick/concrete/idk/plaster/ NOT drywall wall. That and the fact that my door is on another 1/2 foot thick concrete wall should help greatly then?

yeah wood should be no problem. the signal should be good between the first AP and the wall 😄
