The old sticks are:
Kingston 2gb 2rx8 pc3 8500U 7 10 B0

Hynix 2gb 2rx8 pc3 8500U 7 10 B0

Those sticks are DDR3 and will not fit in your motherboard.

Hi. Im currently trying to choose a motherboard for a new budget build im going to build and i have been wondering, if i were to add old 4GB (2x2GB) into a Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 motherboard that will have already 16GB (2x8GB), will it cause a compatibility problem/slowing the build? The old RAM sticks are from my old office pc and i had in my closet.

The old sticks are:
Kingston 2gb 2rx8 pc3 8500U 7 10 B0

Hynix 2gb 2rx8 pc3 8500U 7 10 B0

The build im probably going to make:

Those wont work cause ddr3

Also those are ancient sticks if theyre dual rank 2gb, but i bet theyll push well over 2000 as long as its not a trash ic and afaik hynix 1gbit bfr/dfr clock 3000+, still not worth anything unless you are an oc enthusiast like me =p

Also you can do alot better with your build since you can get a used 5600(x) + b3/450 for similar if not less than that 12100f combo and annihilate it simply due to the 12100f being clocked so low and only having 4 cores, even if you are stuck with new that combo wont cost you much more and annihilate the 12100f especially with a ~4.7ghz allcore

That psu wont be futureproof anyways due to wattage so you may aswell cut down on it to spend on the gpu, prefferably you can buy a used 750/850w rm(x) or equivalent for less than that new rm650 (usually around the price of lower end new psus)

Used gpu if possible cause new last gen is a stupid buy unless your used market is awful and you cant get atleast a 6600xt for the price of that new 6600 (usually you can get a used 6700xt for the price of a new 6600 non xt)

Also samsung ssds have atrocious pricing and you can get a better 1tb dram ssd for the same price as that dramless ass 500gb 980

While used hardware would definetly save me some money, im not aware of any internet store with used hardware (other than facebook market place) here where i live (Czech Republic). I can try to find something, but i kind of doubt.

Heres a reworked version of your list thats slightly cheaper and integrates a ryzen 5500 + b550 alongside a ram upgrade to 32gb and ssd upgrade to 1tb with dram cache, psu has been cut down but it has more wattage

You can simply drop in a used gpu though i highly reccomend you also drop in a used 5600(x) if available alongside a used b3/450 as those will be better than this new lowend b550 not to mention cheaper, i also reccomend a used psu cause im pretty sure for the price if not less than this pylon 750w you can get a used 750/850w rm(x) or equivalent psu which are better units and should last you alot longer

I reccomend lazy tuning the rams to 4400-4600 as the 5500 will benifit from the higher ram speeds due to halved cache and it does have a better imc thats capable of 5000+ 1:1 just that im not reccomending 5000+ due to how annoying it is to stabilize a ram oc the closer you are to the limit of your hardware (ask me how i know), prefferably you can find new or used oem ram reseller on facebook or some other site and request hynix hma82gu6djr8n which are much better for this purpose, you dont have to tune right away if you arent comfortable or just wanna enjoy your pc for abit but you can tune later to get extra performance

b3/450

I found a few cheaper b450 motherboards, but dont know which one to choose. All of them have a similar price. They are:

ASRock B450M HDV R4.0

MSI B450M A PRO MAX

Gigabyte B450 S2H rev. 1.0

Gigabyte B450M K

ASUS PRIME B450M-K II

Also whats the difference between b550 and b450? Since you said that b450 will be better than b550.

Those are lowend garbage boards

Dont buy those new buy used

If thats all you can find used they better be half the price of the b550m-k cause theyre all pretty crap, usually you can find used midrangers like the gaming plus, tomahawk, pro4, steel legend, aorus elite, strix -f, etc. For pretty cheap

All of em are about the same, some revisions of the hdv came with similar vrms as the pro4 so thatd be one of the better boards assuming thats the revision you have available, but again only get these of theyre half the price of the b550m-k otherwise stick with that b550m-k or even the b550m ds3h thats only an extra 100 which comes with a better vrm and look for a used 5600(x)

Than ill go with the one you chose at first. I cant tell what is a good motherboard and what is a bad one. I have no whatsoever knowledge about pcs.

For example i dont see any point in getting 4 memory slots when i dont plan on using 4 ram sticks and i heard that it can be tricky to set up. So personally i would choose a motherboard with just 2 slots and save a bit money. But it seems im very wrong.

Sorry to take your time and thanks for all the help you gave me. 🙂
