Ryzen 7 5800X3D or ryzen 9 5900x?

So which one would be better, more future proof option?

I do mostly gaming(1080p) , but have a plan to stream a bit(in near future), what's the best cpu from those 2, both cost, new, around 275 euros where I live. There's ryzen 9 5950x at 320 euros, but is it even worth?

My current cpu is ryzen 5 3600.

Then 5800X3D all the way, maybe looking to see if the 5700X3D saves you a bit of money as well. Games run significantly faster on the X3D chips, and since streaming can be handled by the GPU, the extra cores wouldn't be doing all that much anyway.

5800X3D. The gaming benefits of the cache are just too large to ignore.

Your productivity usage has to be pretty big to justify the 5900X/5950X.

But will it handle streaming? And will the future games will still need 3d v cache more than extra cores?

5800x3D still holds its own in gaming performance in 2024. I would suggest buying a whole new platform over buying a 5900x/5950x, so considering that, the 5800x3D is the only option.

5700x3d is only 20 euros less than 5800x3d or 5900x 😅

3d v cache has proven to be substantial in gaming performance. Right now the more cache, the better the gaming experience. You can always use the GPU encoder for streaming opposed to the CPU. Modern gpus have a built in encoder for it. Caveat being the amd encoder is not as good as nvidias so there is a small quality hit as a result. But if you're just starting out in streaming, don't worry as much about this for now. That's a future problem as you grow your platform and audience.

😱 Just found used 5950x for 180 euros 😂,reselling my r5 3600 it would be 130 euros, is it still bad desision for that price? 🤔

It's about 4-5% slower, so about the difference in price. Both chips would make sense then, flip a coin.

Cost decision is up to you, but for the best long term gaming the x3d CPUs are the best and worth it since the 5800x3d is literally the absolute best you can get on AM4.

If you are at 1080p then for sure 58X3D.. but at 4K, that X3D gets a bit soft. A properly tuned 5900X will boost to 5150MHz on multiple cores, and use a shit ton of power in all core loads, like 260w.. not this stock stuff that reviewers use 🙂

Same with desktop stuff, just everyday things fly on a 5900X, you can feel the lower clocks when going to 58X3D.

But if all you do is game, then yeah X3D.. I flip flop back and forth every few weeks it seems. Right now I am back to my 5900X. I have a 5600X in another system.. that thing rips up to 4850 on every core/thread with my tune.. its a little beast.

AMD R7 5800X3D | Thermalright Aqua Elite 360, 3x TL-B12, 2x TL-K12

So if gaming than 5800x3d if l need power than 5900x, got it
