I am wondering if I should replace my 7600 i bought last week for a 8500G, they are both the same price where I live but my build right now does not have a GPU, original thread here:

If he is desperate to play games (the 7600 can do some very light gaming, not sure exactly what kind of games you mean in the original thread), then by all means, swap them.

If he can wait, or he's only playing e.g. browser games, then keep the 7600 and eventually buy a graphics card, if he needs it. That will be a better/faster PC overall than the 8500G.

I have heard 8500G is not a good choice due to lack of PCIE lanes for future GPU input and storage and also it has 4/6 Zen C cores which would lower overall performance.

Makes sense only if you only play light games at max 1080p

For AAA gaming a 8500G isn't very good (a 8700G is kinda comparable to a 1060, and a 8500G is weaker), and if not gaming you don't need it neither 😛

Yeah, all that is true, plus the iGPU is significantly cut down compared to the other APUs to the point where it shouldn't really be much faster in games either. It's not a very sensible choice, stick with the 7600 and buy a cheap GPU used if you need more gaming performance.
