Hello everyone,

I installed my new GPU (ROG 4070 Ti Super), and when I open Cyberpunk 2077 my GPU starts making a "bzzzz" noise.

Is it normal?

i may think of the fan bearings, or its just fans xd

Coil whine. Doesn't hurt anything.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Sounds like normal CoilWhine, this is caused by power going through the coils and making them vibrate. The noise can change tone when the FPS of the game you play change.
CoilWhine is completely normal and does not affect the lifespan of the product. Its not dangerous in any way, its just annoying.

Yeah I noticed it changing tone in some parts of the game. And also when playing Battlefield V.

So that noise starts when I play games that need a lot of GPU power? Because I also played Minecraft and it didn't do any noise.

It's worth noting that generally the higher end the gpu the more coil whine you can expect to hear.

4070ti Super is what I would consider a relatively high end gpu and thus it will draw close to 300w , coil whine is completely normal but can be annoying.

It sometimes gets better with time , my 7900XT had horrific whine to begin with but now it's very rare I can hear it , whether it's actually got better or my brain tunes it out I don't really know.

Thank you everyone for helping me with this topic. 😀

Have a wonderful day/night.

You too! Here are some informational videos about CoilWhine.

If you have more questions, you know where to write!

They are a bit old but the logic still stands 😄  Nothing has changed.

I was playing Cyberpunk rn and my screen just turned white with pink and black lines for a couple of milliseconds. Should I be worried?

But this is just too much money on the line.

Totally understandable bud. You are fine 🙂 Just watch the videos I posted above.
CoilWhine is completely harmless and is NOT dangerous in any way to your components! Its just annoying.

I watched those 2 videos and I also found out that on the normal RTX 4080 from ROG also makes the exact same sound as mine.

I guess the sound is more noticeable on ROG GPUs...

ZOTAC has also had a lot of issues with Coilwhine on their Trinity 4090's.

Coilwhine varies a lot and you can get identical cards with one being very very loud and the other one not. Its a bit like winning the lottery.

Usually faster cards will have more coilwhine as they push more power through the coils.

And old AMD cards from the ATI 5000 and 6000 series was crazy!  My old R9 290 Tri-X would be heard from the next town over 😄

Its annoying but again, its not affecting the cards lifespan in any way.
