Transfer OEM License for use on a VM?

a399

I recently bought a laptop, and would like to have it natively run Linux. I planned to have QEMU running windows with GPU passhthrough for gaming and school programs. The hardware seems to be able to support it, since i believe that both the CPU and motherboard both support virtualization, and since it has an IGPU, I'd be able to use the DGPU exclusively on the VM. But since the laptop obviously came with an OEM version of windows, would I need to buy a seperate key for the new installation? From what I understand, licenses are tied to hardware, and it wouldn't be possible to transfer it. Although I was able to find my product key from the command line, so I don't really know whether this is usable on another environment or only for this machine . Any tips?

laptop model for reference: Asus Tuf a15 fa607nu

Blogpost where some guy did this with a previous-gen version of the exact laptop I have, but without completely removing his windows installation and not registering a key: https://blandmanstudios.medium.com/tutorial-the-ultimate-linux-laptop-for-pc-gamers-feat-kvm-and-vfio-dee521850385
