Hey folks,

my RAM is a HyperX 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C10D3B1/8G http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104301

its a 1600mhz ram and in the bios it says is running at 1333, what do i do to fix this?, my MOBO is a GA-Z87X-UD3H

Are you on the XMP profile? You can set Dram frequency in your options somewhere. Depends on the MOBO.

I don't know the bios layout of the board. You need to go to advanced mode then poke around in those menus until you come to DRAM frequency. Set that to 1600. Then I think you'll be prompted with something about saving this XMP profile. Say yes. Then you need to change the profile to XMP #1. I'm not sure what menu thats under. Hopefully this helps!

Ok, yeah i remember my bios and i know where that option are, and this is safe to do?

and yes XMP profiles are safe as they are verified to run at that speed.

Don't set your 1600 ram to 3000 and you'll be good. Make sure you don't set you CPU multiplier to 16 like I did by accident. Was really confused when everything wasn't being nice.
