So my mom got the ASUS TUF gaming A16, and it had some weird issues. It would take like a minute to boot to up, with most of the time the screen being black, then the fans turning on, then after logging into windows the screen would flicker 1 time. Then it just randomly turned the screen off, and i had to hold the power button to shut it down, after that it wanted to do a bios update, and after updating nothing rlly changed.

Is this a new laptop? If so return it or if possible exchange it for another one. Sounds like it has either defective parts or something with the software is messed up. If it's brand new I'd recommend just returning it asap and getting a new one over trying to fix it.

If it's used, that's a whole different ballgame.

Maybe try spending a few minutes doing driver updates, if that doesn't fix anything though, I wouldn't spend a ton of time on it. I'd just return it. The sooner the better.
