Hello All,

I am trying to tweak my build to get the most bang for my buck. I have all lian li fans. What is the optimal profile that i should be using? Right now they are all set at standard. CPU under full load hovers between 75-78C. Before I get into undervolting is there anything I should be tweaking in the L-Connect 3 software?

Those temps are really good. What is your concern?

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

current PC:

Ryzen 5 5600 |16GB DDR4 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1080 ti [further details on my profile]

PC configs I used before:

  1. Pentium G4500 | 4GB/8GB DDR4 2133Mhz | H110 | GTX 1050
  2. Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz / OC:4Ghz | 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz / 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1050

fan curves depend on preference, unless you want the quietest or best performing system (in terms of temps)

If you want your temps to be as low as they can, regardless of noise then raise your points on the fan curve graph to the max. If you want the quietest, do the opposite. I would go somewhere in the middle.

But the noise/performance is your opinion so I'd do where, during gaming the noise from the fans are like a quiet whoosh and the cooling performance is still good. But it is your opinion on the balance between noise and performance and what's acceptable for you

Well the thought was that if the fan profile was optimized then the cpu temp would be lower allowing for more performance. Right now it averages 4.4ghz.

That is true. In order to achieve that, you should consider more aggressive fan curves, more/stronger fans and better configuration of them,  a better cooler, a better case, OC to increase clock speed, UV to decrease power usage and, thus, decrease temps, which will increase speed,  etc.

Well the case and fans should be very good. Lan cool 3. 4 140mm lian li infinity fans, 3 120mm and the 360 galahad II for the cpu cooler.

Right now the fans are set as the came with the standard profile. They have options for high and full but I dont know what profile is the best. Nor what the pump profile is, right now it's set for pwm.

What's more important: performance or low noise?

Ideally there would be a balance but I would lean more to performance.

Try turbo and see how you like it.
