all i can find online are old reports of people having a stroke because their intel xmp ram only runs at 4800mt/s

XMP on the original AMD BIOSes was broken. On current BIOS revisions, it has since been fixed, so if you do a BIOS update before using the system (which you should do anyway to avoid the SOC voltage issues of the original BIOS revisions), this isn't something you need to worry about. Even on the older BIOS revisions though, you could get an XMP to work just fine by leaving XMP disabled and manually entering all of the memory settings yourself.

On AMD, if you just want to enable XMP/EXPO, stick to 6000MT/s. Speeds of 6200+ will default to 2:1 mode and end up with significantly worse performance unless you manually set it to 1:1 mode and hope you don't have one of the bottom bin memory controllers that doesn't do 6200MT/s in 1:1 mode. As for it not being on the QVL, the QVL isn't exhaustive so odds are the kit should work just fine.

I'm currently upgrading my pc to an am5 r7800x3d and I'm going with a semi all white theme so I have my eyes glued on the corsair dominators in white @ 6000 or 6200mt/s either or part number is (CMT32GX5M2X6200c36W). but sadly no expo. i checked on the motherboards( msi b650 edge wifi) QVL list and it is not on there . I only wish to reach the max mt/s that it was advertised at. i was just wondering what is the compatibility of ram like nowadays since all i can find online are old reports of people having a stroke because their intel xmp ram only runs at 4800mt/s. if anyone could answer my questions about if i could get away with this combo and would i be able to reach the advertised 6000 or 6200 without it crashing

thank you so much this clears up alot since all the old threads are or were at the launch. ive heard that 6000mt/s is the sweet spot for the 7000 series but i was hoping there would be a chance that is i buy 6200 cl36 there would be more than 1 oc profile maybe 6000 but im not to sure thats the case. anyway i found dominator platinum's with 6000mt/s cl30 which is quite good in my eyes as i dont want to high latency

Corsair rarely puts more than one XMP profile on their kits, so it's doubtful. You could always manually lower the memory settings manually, but at the same time the 6000 CL30 kit should do at least 7000 CL34 with a good enough CPU and motherboard, so I wouldn't exactly call the 6200 CL36 better because it's slightly higher clocked.

Just get which ever kit is cheaper, erring towards 6000 CL30.

will do i would go with the 6200 cl36 for the looks but im sure i would be competent enough to underclock it the thing is i don't trust myself to if you catch my drift. im just going to go for the 6000 cl30. thank you so much for your help you have cleared a lot up for me.
