Buzzing noise

Hey guys, I'm using a CoolerMaster MWE 550W gold and I'm hearing an intermittent buzzing sound, its not loud but I can hear it especially when going close to the PSU. oh, it also buzzes regardless with or without load.

Any insights? what should I do? do I need to be worried?

Could just be normal coil whine.  Even my RM750i has that on idle if I go very close to the PSU.

Sounds like this? Volume up!

I did volume up.

I can hear air moving, fans for sure.

I can hear some mechanical revolving sound, maybe bearings.

But I can't hear no coil whine.

(could be my ears failing)

I'm willing to swim against the current.

The mechanical revolving sound you are hearing would be the CoilWhine.

The frequency on PSU's is usually a lot lower compared to a screeching GPU.

There's a fan in the psu too (Ohh, that's not your system !)

Yes it is but fans don't make a buzzing noise like that.

Then I wouldn't worry. CoilWhine is completely normal in PSUs, GPUs and even some Monitors.

Its just power going through coils that makes them vibrate.  Its not dangerous or harmful in any ways, its just annoying.

If you are able to record the noise that would be awesome, so I can tell if its proper coilwhine or something else.

I couldn't hear anything suspicious in the second video so it's either my speakers or my ears (or both)

Definitely a problem on your end 😄 The second video is surprisingly loud.

That being said, I am extremely sensitive to high pitched frequencies like Coilwhine.

Not all speakers/headphones will necessarily output those higher pitches well too, never mind the users hearing.

I have tinnitus so VERY sensitive to higher pitches too.

Do you leave your psu on all the time? I managed to stop the buzzing sound only MWE v2 bronze by switching it off at the wall socket every night and leaving it off until I turn it on the following day.

I mean I turn off the power at the wall socket, not just shutdown the PC at night.
