Corsair RM750e or RM850e

testcy

I just noticed that I can get the RM850e (CP-9020263) for the same price as the RM750e (CP-9020262) or even less. Both seem to have a 7-year warranty. Any reason to choose the RM750e instead of the RM850e?

None of these two if you ask me. RMe has an annoying fan noise. If you like that, the RM850e is a pretty decent choice.

Different PN, different units. I personally had terrible luck with corsair PSU fans as well.

The fan bearing makes a constantly humming noise.

Depends on what's available in your country.

If it's the same price then just get the 850 because more watts = more power = future-proof.

Isn't it amazing that if a PC part is more expensive or higher wattage then it's faster and lasts longer?!

I've usually had great luck with corsair power supplies and fans. I guess it depends though. Their cheapest decent model, the CX650M, is a bit noisy.

CV650 (CP-9020236), CX650 (CP-9020278) and at almost twice the price, RM750x (CP-9020199) and RM850x (CP-9020200) are available.

I currently have a RM1000e and it fluctuates from being loud and quiet. Still haven't found a reason why but I would avoid this model and other RM models

Are there any other brands available except Corsair?

You have a link to a webshop?

Those are exactly the same units. The CX650 is a relabled CV650.

Should I rule out CX650/CV650 too then?

I usually buy from one or two physical shops, with not many brands available. Some (overpriced) choices I have, that could be worth considering are:

COOLER MASTER MWE V2 500W

BE QUIET! PURE POWER 11 FM 550W

BE QUIET! PURE POWER 11 600W

SHARKOON SILENTSTORM COOL ZERO 650W

Is any of these better than the Corsair units?

Depends on the price and if 550w is enough for your system, but this be quiet! is the one I recommand. Decent and silent PSU. https://hwbusters.com/psus/be-quiet-pure-power-11-fm-550w-psu-review/

It's overpriced for sure, even though I couldn't find a price online to compare. Is any of the other choices worth considering if I need a little more power?

The Sharkoon is worth considering if the price is right.
