Hello, I'm new here. I have a question. I am swapping phones but that means transfering the thermo conductive magnetic plate at the back to the new phone. What type of adhesive should I use when I re-stick it on the new device? I am assuming it won't adhere to another surface as easily after I rip off the old phones' back. The glue it had fresh out the box seems very firm too.

the thermo conductive magnetic plate

So a steel/iron plate?

I agree with @Schnoz, thermal tape/adhesive will likely be the best solution.

I'm not clear on what you're trying to depict. Can you send a link or picture of the phone cooler so we have a better idea?

However, perhaps using thermally conductive tape may not be a bad idea. Just make sure to squeeze out any air bubbles.

Interesting. Assuming there aren't vent holes on the bottom, using 3M VHS mounting tape or thermally conductive tape like the blue-and-white stuff you'd find on sites like Amazon is a good bet.

All vents are side and top, the mesh-like black plastic is all venting, bottom is just a silver plate that attaches flush with the also flat metallic plate at back of phone.

Thanks 😊

what phone do you use? 😨

I've seen DDTS recently test one of those, it actually works (they used an iPhone iirc) but its actually also highly impractical for obvious reasons... (bulky as heck, cannot be removed...)

This one just clips onto the magnetic plate at the back of my phone

So I only use it when Gaming.

Well, sounds like the only, if awkward fix.

As above, thermal transfer tape. 3M.

They are surprisingly common in mobile gaming. Most streamers have one. Pair that with a phone that has its own internal cooler like Asus ROG or Nubia Red magic, and it's a breeze.
