it turns on the moniter, the moniter goes black, then it goes to a dark grey with a tiny rectangular box middle left of the screen

i have 16 gb of ram and all the cords are in correctly. other people have been telling me to pres f2 or f12 and stuff like that when it boots up but that dosnt work eather

Okay, you have connected small bios speaker to motherboard? Try to boot with one ram stick.

I seeing that you dont have connected small bios speaker to motherboard, small bios speaker comes with pc case ( in screws package ), it would help so much to recognize problem
