i5 3470 or i7 2600

i found a pc today with an i5 3470 when i went for a walk today it has no hdd or ssd

my friend has bought a 512gb ssd for the i7 2600 pc i already gave him but hes waiting for it to come in the post and for me to install it for him

my question is would the i5 or i7 pc be better both will have 8gb ram and i will stick the gt 1030 in whatever pc is better

all he wants to do is play older game like gta v fortnite in predominance mode Just Cause 2 fall guys vampire survivors and older older games he going to use a 18.5" screen and says he would be happy with 720p 30fps+ at low settings he also wants to use it to browse the web watch youtube at 720p

I would take the i7 2600 over the i5 3470 because it has HyperThreading. The difference in single core performance should be minimal.

However, when paired with a GT 1030, there shouldn't be a huge difference for gaming. The GT 1030 is just too slow for the difference in CPU to matter much here, even at low settings.

the 2600 has more cache and more threads and will probs perform better but it's only got pcie gen 2. But if your gpu is only gen 2 then that won't matter. the 3470 has gen 3. But in this vid you can see that the 2600 comes out on top so still with the 2600
