I know these will get me about a year till they are complete obsolete.

it's not the 1990s anymore , you can run a machine for as long as you want. case and point: typing this from a 2011 HP dv6 on windows 7

given the two options i'd probably just go for the 4060 build to extend it's driver lifespan but neither machine has enough info to really determine the quality or longevity of the parts being used.

13th gen I7 13700f, liquid cooled  16gb ddr4 3200,  geforce rtx 3060 8gb, 1 tb nvme m.2

Or

13th gen I5 13400f, fan cooled, 16 gb ddr5 5200,

Rtx 4060 8g, 1tb nvme m.2

Not sure what would be the better of the two 🤔

I know these will get me about a year till they are complete obsolete. But this is what i can afford. For a pre build

What's your use case going to be with your PC? Do you currently have a PC and if so which games you play or struggle to play but would like to?

Are pre-builts the only options?

Frankly, I would avoid both since the GPU is either 3060 or 4060, especially with prebuild that cost $1000

I would at least consider if it's 4060 TI, but no less than that

Is there any other prebuilt list that you have checked?

My System: Ryzen 7800X3D // Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX // 32GB 6000MHz DDR5 Silicon Power Zenith CL30 // Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT OC with mod heatsink on the metal plate  // Phanteks P300A  // Gigabyte Aorus GEN4 7300 PCIE 4.0 NVME // Kingston NV2 Gen4 PCIE 4.0 NVME //

I'd pick the i7. The margin between the 400f and 700f is significantly bigger than the 3060 to 4060. Better future upgradability.

I'd pick a system with 7600 CPU, but I think those are 100$ overbudget unfortunately, at least for pre-builts

All my pc's have been intel. I know my way aroud them and how to service and use there features best for me.

Amd just has a bunch of bloat ware attached to them.  If you need 5 programs to run your cpu and monitor it. To me that just a huge headache

Still pretty bad. 4060 with slow ram. We don't even know what sort of case it is nor motherboard. For all we know they could be shaving fat margins and give you a mATX motherboard in some cheapo ATX case. On PCPartPicker for RAM, storage, PSU, Case, Cooler we've got a fat $600 budget. For gaming I'm pretty sure the 7600 and 13700F are neck and neck. I'd just keep the $100 saving then.

Outdated stereotype that wasn't true to begin with. Your prebuild is gonna come with bloatware regardless if intel or AMD, because it's a prebuild.

In 2024? AMD is top dog as Intel struggles to keep up and is starting to play dirty, falling back to their tricks that made CPU's stagnate to begin with.

How is building and maintaining an Intel system different from AMD?

What are these mystical features that only Intel has that you can't live without because nobody else has them. Curious.
