10yr olds first pc

Just done a deal to buy a used think centre mt720p i7-9700 for £160gbp 200usd ish.

My Question will this be ok for running his age games i.e Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft?

Next will I have to do much modding/upgrades

It's probably fine for Roblox and Minecraft, but you'll want to add a video card for Fortnite. Is it a tower case with a decent capacity power supply?

Welcome to the LTT forums! Which form factor of the mt720p? Out the box the computer will probably run Minecraft okish, some roblox games, and maybe fortnite depending on the form factor and PSU you may want to toss a GPU in the computer as well, so that it can properly run most of these games... if possible something of at least a GTX 1050 level of performance would be ideal.

Welcome to PC gaming! I started on a pre-built like that as well. As the others have said already, getting some more info about the components (mostly the PSU and form factor - we could also find those out by looking at good pictures) would be vital, knowing your budget for upgrades would be good too. Adding a GPU will greatly benefit your gaming capabilities, but you might be able to scrape by for now if you are okay with low resolutions and settings.

So this one comes in a a small form factor and desktop version.

 

As is it has a decent cpu but lacks graphics power severly and will not play fortnite well/at all. Robolx fine and minecraft semi ok ish sorta.

 

Since these often come with 180w or 240w psu's upgrade options to add a graphics card are very limited

 

If possible id go to 300-350 and you can relavivly easily get someons proper couple years old gaming system
