one cable and box that stays on the desk an the other cables can be easy plugged on and removed as needed

So basically the easiest thing for you to do is get a couple long cables and well done.

That or a couple long cables with the female ends and just bolt em to the desk then plug in the other smaller cable to that cable and pc.

There doesn't exist a all in one solution for this

I need a video signal converter box? so my monitor had DVI, VGA, and DP. what i want is a "Hub" or something akin where i can have one cable running out of the monitor to a hub and then i can plug a VGA, DVI (any variant), HDMI, or DP from a computer into the hub so that i dont have to keep switching the cables from the monitor (i work at a computer repair shop btw thats why i am looking for this solution).

or even a monitor under $100 USD that has all 4 ports (if the hub isnt an option)

It sounds like you just need extension cables. What you're asking for is just a passthrough, technically you could just get extensions and 3D Print them into a box to have a "hub".

So instead of having 3 cables connected to your repair monitor and a hdmi to dvi adapter on the side

You are going to have a box with 4 connectors where each have a cable attachrd to it that you still need to continously swap the cable around?

Am I misynderstanding the issue or does this just seem like adding another piece to the puzzle that simplifies nothig?

You could get a KVM switch that accepts multiple inputs, and sends them to a single output. Unfortunately, from some quick searching, I can't find one that has support for VGA, DVI, HDMI, and DP all at once. I'm not sure that that would really exist, as generally, these switches are designed to be used with multiple computers hooked to a single monitor, so usually only have 1 or 2 types of input.

However, you could get one that has both DP and HDMI in, then then combine that with VGA to DP and DVI to DP adapters to give you all 4 at once.
