Recommend PSU(for first pc build)

Moon23
Go to solution Solved by SG-O,

Here are two recommendations:

Corsair CX750M (2021)(I'm a bit biased as I quite like Corsair's products)

Thermaltake Smart BM3 750 (this has native PCIe Gen5 power support)

Both are 750W which gives you about 400W headroom for a future GPU upgrade.

I am currently planning my build I have finalized all the components but I am confused about which psu I should use.

Here is the build that I have planned-

**Case** Corsair 4000d airflow case

**Case Fans** 5 Arctic P12 PWM PST

**Motherboard** MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi Motherboard ATX

**CPU** Ryzen 5 7600x
**CPU Fan** Deepcool AG620 Dual-Tower 120mm CPU Fan
**RAM** Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM(2x16GB) DDR5 5200Mhz
**SSD** Crucial P5 Plus 1TB PCIe 4.0 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD

please recommend me some good PSUs.

Could you please tell us which GPU you are thinking about using? Are you planing on using any other power hungry peripherals?

In general any PSU from a reputable manufacturer (Corsair, EVGA, Thermaltake, Silverstone, BeQuiet,Cooler Master, MSI) with enough power output will do.

Sorry, but the google search tells that it's 1800€ - https://www.google.com/search?q=Rs+1.65+Lakh&rlz=1C1BNSD_enEE1007EE1007&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Could you elaborate, how much in USD or EUR you have for PSU?

But if you're up to selecting your own PSU from the tier list that would be an option - https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

At least B tier should be cool.

If you have no plans for a gpu then honestly you could buy whatever you like , Even a garbage unit can power that system.

CPU : Ryzen 7 7800X3D @ -18mv all core except -13mv on Core 5 because its a pig.

CPU Cooler : Deepcool AK620 Zero Dark

Mobo : MSI B650M-A Wifi MATX

Ram : 32GB (2X16GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000MHZ CL34

GPU : Reference Design RX7900XT sold by Saphire running at 1050MV undervolt and +15% PL (355w)

Storage : 1TB WD SN770 + 2TB Samsung 970 Evo

PSU : Corsair HX750w Platinum

Case : Asus Prime AP201 All Mesh MATX

Case Fans : Arctic p12's everywhere i can fit them in , 7 In total.

Monitor : LG 27GP850-B.BEK 1440p Nano IPS 180Hz

Keyboard : HyperX Alloy Core RGB

Mouse : Corsair M65 Elite RGB

Headset : Corsair HS35 Gaming Headset

Unless it unexpectedly explodes like some Gigabyte PSU?

Do you mean that you won't get a GPU or that you haven't decided which one, yet? If it's the later, please elaborate what kinds are in consideration.

I won't get a gpu cuz the pc is already expensive, even if I do it will be in next 1 or 2 yrs

I would like to note that your chosen Motherboard may not be the optimal cost wise. Depending on your  required feature-set, local availability and pricing the "MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI" or even "MSI PRO B650M-P" would be much better.

I checked out the corsair psu it seems that it is semi modular!, could you please tell me which cables are permanent and which cables can be removed?

Both of the PSUs I recommended have the 24pin ATX connector and the 8 Pin EPS (also known as 4+4 ATX 12V) cables permanently attached. All others (SATA, PCI-E and Molex) are modular.

Fixed typo.

While I can't guarantee that, I can tell you that I always had good experiences with Corsair PSUs (I currently provide support for 4 systems that have Corsair power supplies). Additionally it comes with a 5 year warranty....

Again I have a bit of a bias for Corsair products.

Thermaltake BM3 is way better than the Corsair CX750M with outdated double forward topology.
