Hello LMG,

I was trying to insert my Zotac 1650 OC into my PC using a riser cable and I found that one of the "arms" had fallen off. I lift it up to see what had happens and the entire thing was disconnected from the female PCI insert. Before you assume anything, no, I did not pull a @RoxBox and yank it out, and it looked like they weren't even properly connected in the first place. Is it salvageable, and if not, what are other *CHEAP* alternatives? Thanks in advance!

Why do you even need a riser cable in the first place ? For a 1650 ??

no shade but it doesnt look like a particularly high quality riser, so stuff like this can happen

you can probably solder it together again if you believe the time you need to commit is worth it (and have the skills to do so ofc)

but i would go with a higher quality one and discard this one if your budget allows it

Did you buy this new? Because it looks like someone abused the crap out of it. Looks more like the seller wanted to get rid of their old useless mining stock.

You could try soldering it, if you're up for it, or simply use the card as is, without a riser?

low quality mass produced riser for crypto mining.

Unless you absolutely need a riser, just don't use it at all.

You got scammed, it was used for mining bitcoins for year imo...

Rather than wasting money on janky stuff you should  get a decent case 😛

I'd assume it is anything but. Someone is selling their old used mining supplies. If you still can, I'd try returning it.

This is mostly for GPUs that have no extra power, i.e. can pull up to 75W from the PCIe slot. While the slot itself should be able to handle this much power, slot + riser might not (not covered by PCIe standard).

If I'm not mistaken the Zotac 1650 OC is such a card, so it might actually be a good idea to get a riser with extra power.

I'll bet this is for a Dell optiplex or something. Not just low profile, probably has proprietary mounts and I/O. I get the idea that OP is getting a bit creative with the mounting

The ribbon cable is fine. Chances are you won't get the same garbage pawned off on you again if you go with a different seller.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

From what I'm seeing, this is only for risers adapting a PCIe x1 slot over to PCIe x16.

Could be worse. I am guessing that OP already has a plan to get all the pieces together correctly, but just to be sure, @Vdkxmncan you share some material on how you're using this ribbon cable? Just so we can make sure the one you selected is actually gonna be just right for you. I also just noticed that the black one is a right-angle connector, which might make this process a lot easier, but potentially harder depending on the orientation of the card.
