Gifting games on steam

Hello, quick question, If I want to gift my friend don't starve together on steam, the game says it comes with a free key to play with a friend, does my friend get the game and a key for his other friends or does he only get one copy, Thanks

It gives you one key to play with only one person. so no he cant give that key since it will perish into the mount of doom once he activates it

If you buy the game for him, he'll get the game AND the key to give away.

 

They've had this sale before...

 

If you purchased Don't Starve Together, chose "as a gift" (or if you already own the game and buy the game again by choosing the option “as a gift”) and sent the gift to a friend, the person who receives the gift will automatically get Don't Starve Together activated on their Steam account and game library (as it normally does). That same person will also find a second, giftable copy of Don't Starve Together in their Steam Inventory that they can send to a friend.
