Hello,

I’m looking into buying a new mouse, but my budget is kinda tight of rn. I had a wireless mouse before (Roccat Kain 200) and I absolutely loved not having a wire. But since it’s already over 3 years old, it’s showing wear already. The mousewheel is very laggy and there are things loose on the inside. So I was looking at some mice but the wireless mice I saw were out of my budget. So I thought of getting a wired mouse with a bungee. And I wanted to ask if someone who has tried a mouse bungee, if it’s good and comparable to a wireless mouse, in terms of movements, because I dislike when the cable is stuck somewhere. Thanks for any help in advance.

Yeah I use one, I can barely notice the cable as it's paracord too.

I've used a mouse bungee for several years. Somehow even my mother liked it so much one time she used my PC that now she's using a mouse bungee for office work 🙈

Price range is varied but all pretty much do just as good of a job as the expensive ones. Cheap ones on Amazon exist, one Ikea has is decent. Mum said she'll sponsor me if I give mine so obviously I chose a gucci Zowie mouse bungee. Does exactly the same job but simply looks better, has more weight to the base and more springy.

They're great and I'd recommend using them. Cable gets hooked on less, drags less so mouse feels even more free.

For reference I have Roccat Burst Pro wired.

Using my bungee + heavy mouse with DIY sleeved cable just fine.

Although if you are used to wireless, you will most likely still feel the difference.

To me, the difference is easily forgotten once I'm engrossed in what I'm doing with the PC.

YMMV

I used to use one, it's better than nothing, but I'd take a wireless mouse any day. Given you can usually get something like a G305 for like $30, just get one of those.

Yeah I saw it’s very popular, but the double A batteries, size and form is a deal breaker for me. The normal buttons look fine, but the mousewheel and the side buttons look kinda small. Or maybe it’s just the pics, but the batteries would still be a problem for me in case of buying new ones every few weeks and the increased weight. Or if it isn’t like I think pls lmk. But thanks anyways.

They're on the smaller size, but not uncomfortably so. If you want a bigger mouse, the G604 is not much more expensive and designed for bigger hands.

As for the batteries, the AA lasts for the magnitude of months. Heck, the G604 I use on my test bench (admittedly without regular use, but still) has lasted over a year on the same battery that came with it while  never turning it off. Combine it with rechargeable batteries if you're worried about it and it really is a non-issue. As for the weight, the G305 is still pretty lightweight even with the AA, though if you want it lighter there are ways to mod it to take AAAs with admittedly lower capacity (though if you just use rechargeable batteries, that doesn't really matter).

Like @RONOTHAN## said above,

I use a AAA battery for my G304, with AAA to AA adapter. And should such adapter can't be obtained, a DIY method can be easily done.

They're rechargable battery, so I don't need to buy a new one each time.

To me, this kind of battery kinda more easier on life sometimes, just in case I bring it somewhere, run out of battery and need to use the mouse ASAP. I can simply go to nearest convenience store and buy a battery 😬

And yea, no need to ever connect a cable to the mouse, battery dead? swap. Then the old one can be recharged out of my sight.

I can measure the weight if you want. But it's gotta be tomorrow, dunno where did I put my kitchen scale.

Side button length is around 1,3cm on it's shortest point, and around 1,6cm on it's longest. 4,5mm tall.

Mousewheel is 2cm long (measured on the side that shows, not actual diameter), and 6,5mm wide.

What’s a paracord?

Lightweight nylon braided cable.

The thing is I wouldn’t say I have big hands. I’m using a kain 200 rn and it’s comfortable. Idk if it’s just the pics because it says the g305 is nearly 11.6 x 6.22 x 0.25 cm, idk what the last measurement is. The kain 200 is 12,4 x 6,5 x 4,3 cm. If you know what the last measurement means pls lmk

And how is the mouse size in general?

I think that last dimension was wrong. It should be the height of the mouse, though 0.25mm is not accurate at all. The measurement I found for it is 38.2mm, so that's probably more along the lines of what it actually is. It's a bit smaller in all dimensions than your current mouse, I'd probably rather a G604 (12.9 x 7.9 x 4.5 cm) as it's a more similar size to your current mouse, though both are solid options.

If you live somewhere with something like a Best Buy or equivalent, it's probably worth going there and taking a look at what's available. Most computer shops will have some mice on display for you to feel the shape of to see what you like and what you don't. People have their own personal preferences with mice (personally I'm a G502 diehard and will only daily mice with that shape), so what makes sense for you won't necessarily make sense for me and vice versa. You might try it and decide you really like the shape, or you might try it and absolutely hate it.
