Can anyone tell how old this corsair PSU is?

Some guy is selling it for a good price on FB marketplace. I was wondering if it's too old.

Newer, within the last few years.
this is the label style from 2016 to 2020 so it’s newer than 2020

The VS 500 came out in 2016 but they had an updated model in 2020 and onwards. As mentioned above, this looks like to be a 2020 revised model.

Judging by how clean it is and how everything else looks around and behind the PSU, this person takes good care of their items.

I would trust this purchase.

You can roughly date Corsair psus based off their cosmetic design

2020 and newer have these flat labels, and their higher end units use a triangular mesh pattern for the grille 

 

2014-2020 they used this label style with the diagonal gray lines, and a ribbed effect on the higher end models grilles

 

before that was color dominant labels, but still with the semi modern font choice

This is like pre 2014-2016 for most of their models 

 

and before that would’ve been the old school labels, 2010-2012 and older

What is that good price? This is a very low end PSU so the price must be very low.

 

VS500 with the black label is launched in 2020.

 

What are the CPU and GPU you're going to use this PSU for?

I3 4160 ( plan to replace with an i5 or 7 later)

 

no graphics card for now, maybe something low power, pcie slot only
