I have a couple choices for ssds and would like to know a couple things about them.

Which ones are fastest? Which one is best value? Are they all fast enough for gaming? Which one should i get?

NVME drives are NVME drives. They're basically uber fast, any one will do fine for gaming unless you're a specialist user, you're better off with the great word of advice.

Get the cheapest one for the best price.

This test is useless 

T500 speed drops after 100 sec copy at 7200MBs, so when you have have copied 720GB !!!

Who ever does this???

In real life it's a very good SSD

On empty drive, who does that. 

and it’s not only sequential, random 4K is atrocious, the latency is high.

like, is this really a TLC drive, or QLC one.

 

yeah, test are useless, we should all just believe in the manufactures, they wouldn't deceive us, right?

They wouldn't optimize SSD, to look good in mainstream benchmarks ( knowing the testing methodology ), while any heavy workload would render the SSD useless.


why would I buy worst SSD, when I can buy a better SSD on E18 + 176l TLC. 

lie to yourself, don't market that drive to people, as „decent price”. 
 

any time you leave pSLC chance, the speeds literally tanks below HDD speeds. 
you could just save money, and buy yourself some QLC SSD, if that behavior is ok for you. But do not recommend it to people.

Never said tests are useless, linked some myself, but benchmarks based on "real" (or at  least close to) usage 

You're linking tests on super long R/W cycles (1000 sec runs at 0.5 to 1.5GB/sec...) that I don't object to, but this just doesn't apply to daily usage of a gaming rig, or maybe once on a lifetime on install 

Same for TBW, as long as the SSD will last for more than the time it'll take to make it totally outdated I don't care if it's 30 or 2000 years !

Well ok, but don't recommend it as „best at decent price” if you did see the benchmarks.

it’s new expensive SSD, marketed as high end, priced like high end, and with performance problems like entry level QLC SSD. 
 

sequential is one thing, but the random 4K is atrocious, the latency is high, and that is real world use…

 

They wanted to cheap out, and they used 2 dense 232l TLC micron NAND package, and 4 channel controller (phison E25T). 
instead of normal 8 package 176l TLC micron NAND and 8 channel controller (Phison E18) we see in top older PCIe 4.0 SSD.

 

they don’t have that problem, they will crunch everything you throw at them. and they cost the same, or lower.
 

like what is so good in T500 to recommend it, it’s just new, and that is it. it's expensive, and the performance is at best questionable, for entry/mid range PCie 4.0 ssd that is.

Just do go full cheap, and don't buy DRAMless QLC ones.

as we did see some reports on lags, and texture popping, when using P3 for games. 

 

you want a 1TB one?

I use pcpartpicker. I do need 1tb as they seem to be the best price/storage and i can't settle for 500gb. You said don't get a dramless?
