by use case I meant "what are you using the CPU for." As for the budget, "mid to cheap" is very dependent on the person. Some people would call that $50-100 US, while others would call it $200-300 US.

For that budget, you can get a whole new setup that's better than anything you can throw in that socket. Depending on the RAM you have, you can probably carry forward the kit you currently own, though even if you can't you can get a good enough kit within that budget.
